Small Group Business Health Insurance
What is the one question I get more than any other when I talk with small business owners in Dallas, Plano, Frisco and throughout Texas about their group health insurance? The question is “Can I get coverage in a good PPO Network that my doctor and local hospital accepts”?
I know you are probably shocked that the question wasn’t about a lower rate on their monthly premium. Please understand that a “lower monthly premium” is always preferred when it comes to health insurance plans in Texas, however, if your health insurance network is not good then the premium rate is irrelevant. Particularly if you can’t see a noted specialist or go to the best hospital available in your area during a time of serious medical need.
At Texas Health Now, PLLC when it comes to small group/business employers’ insurance it’s never “One Size Fits All”. We like to think “out of the box” and recommend the right insurance company and plan for your Texas based business. We carefully analyze the market whether it is Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Austin, Houston or wherever your business is located, to determine which group health plan works best for you and your employees.
Fully Insured - We offer fully insured group plans with the top health insurance carriers in Texas. These plans require no medical underwriting and have the option of both PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), and HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) networks. Employers and their employees can qualify with no health history questions. The difference in a PPO and HMO is that the PPO does not require a visit to your primary care doctor for a referral before you see a specialist. It also has in and out of network benefits. HMO policies in Texas, on the other hand, do not offer out of network benefits.
Self-Funded - We offer self-funded group plans with many of the best insurance companies in Texas. With a self-funded policy, you must go through full medical underwriting for yourself and your employees before the policy can be issued. You may ask, why would you choose this option when you can select the fully insured option and not have to answer any health questions to qualify? If you have a” healthy group” of employees without significant medical issues, then by hoosing the self-funded option you can potentially save significantly on your monthly premiums.
PEO/Outsourcing - PEO stands for Professional Employment Organization. If you want to use an outside source to handle your benefits (health insurance and payroll), without the challenges of using separate benefit and payroll firms, we can assist by working with one of our PEO partners to help you with this solution and save time so you can focus on what you do best… running your business. Using a PEO company can help you avoid having to keep up with all the current COBRA, HR benefits and payroll compliance regulations by having them perform these responsibilities on your behalf.

Supplement Benefits - Everyone knows that they need health insurance to prevent the major crisis that can come into our lives and into the lives of our loved ones. But sometimes group health insurance doesn’t cover all these expenses. That is where supplement insurance benefits like Cancer, accident, hospital, short term disability, group Life, vision and dental can fill in these gaps.
Medicare Health Insurance
Medicare is a health insurance program in the United States for people who are 65 years of age or older. It is also a program for people who are under 65 with certain disabilities who have received Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for at least 24 months, and for people under 65 who have Kidney Disease. Medicare coverage is divided into various parts: Part A, B, C and D and Medicare Supplements, sometimes referred to as Medigap Plans. Medicare Parts A and B are considered “Original Medicare”. Part A covers hospital or in-patient services including skilled nursing and hospice care while Medicare Part B covers out-patient care such as doctor visits, lab work, ex-rays, preventative care, cancer therapy, dialysis, medical equipment and supplies and much more. In addition to Parts A & B, your will need either a Medicare Part C plan also known as Medicare Advantage which includes Part A, B and D all in one plan or some people choose a different path than Medicare Advantage and go with a Medicare Supplement instead with a separate Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
